La Mattanza In Palermo

What can I say, I have always loved this place....

A place where you can enjoy good pizzas and excellent fish, the spaghetti all'insabiata are spectacular, the fried fish are wonderful. The table service is attentive and precise and the guys are very quick and ready to advise you. The real show, however, is the veranda which hosts the largest number of tables overlooking the sea. At lunch it is a pleasure for the eyes and the view extends over the entire gulf of Palermo, while in the evening the lights of the fishermen's boats and the illuminated coast still offer moments of absolute relaxation.

We lived nearby in an Airbnb and ate here twice in the evening and once for lunch. A pretty good fish restaurant. Saute di Vongole and grilled cuttlefish were very tasty. Pizza was ok too. You have to prepare raw dishes (salad, fish tartare) yourself, which was a bit unusual but ok. Fine deserts. Good selection of wine. Frequented by locals. Nice atmosphere, Prof. Service, sea view great.

Went for lunch for 2 different events, the experience was different, the first time, with the tasting menu we waited a really long time between one course and the other, the second time out of fury was not cooked well, a second time again with the tasting menu things have improved, a fair waiting time between the various courses and the fish main course was cooked to perfection, the only flaw was the appetizer where in the prawns in pink sauce we found between one and 2 prawns each. Very friendly and helpful staff, nothing to say. It's a shame about the entrance to the restaurant, not very well looked after, with a small investment it could become very pleasing to the eye, compared to the semi-abandonment of the surrounding road/pavement. Ultimately a good average restaurant with sea view.

Having arrived in my Palermo after several years, I had the pleasure of returning to this restaurant/pizzeria overlooking the sea. With pleasant surprise I noticed a renovated, more modern and welcoming environment. The quality of the food is always high and the staff is smiling and attentive to customers. The portions are generous and the pizzas delicious. La Mattanza is one of the historic places where you can safely return if you want to eat well and enjoy the view of the sea.

You can eat very well, especially the pasta with seafood..👍

Location, staff, top food! I recommend it to everyone!
