26/05/2024: If you like meat, a stop at this restaurant is a must! The menu is very simple: steak and side dishes, there's no need to rack your brains over the choices 😂. But the meat is spectacular: 4 fingers high, very tender, served on hot plates and strictly rare! 1🔝😋
11/05/2024: I never publish reviews, I'm in the industry even if at a much « more refined » level, but here I really feel like doing it.
While looking for photos to show what the place I was talking about to friends offers, I came across (although it seems like few) negative reviews.
Negative of what?
You go to the steakhouse in Ortonovo to eat meat, and the meat is DIVINE.
We hear every day about meat aged at certain temperatures for certain days, meat aged in wax, Japanese meat, breeds and so on and so forth.
Then you arrive at the Ortonovo steakhouse, where the innkeeper and owner (criticised for his manners in the reviews) cooks you meat (the origin of which I don't know) which for me is the best in the world, it literally melts in your mouth, it feels like eating a tartare because of how tender it is.
I am a Tuscan from Lucca who lives in Switzerland but when he returns to Lucca, he takes the car and goes to Ortonovo to eat steak.
The innkeeper is a pleasant person, first of all he is an Inter fan, then he is a non-intrusive person, and he advises you on the weight of the meat to be cooked in front of him, along with which side dishes are offered.
There is no menu, at the Ortonovo steakhouse you are fed, and it hasn't happened to me, but if, as I read, the owner wants to sit with me and my friends at the end of the service and eat with us, he is welcome.
Apart from the meat, the side dishes are of good quality, we are talking about home cooking, the queen of the table is the steak, which if you want to accompany it with wine, you can range from a choice ranging from house wine to sensational bottles for true connoisseurs.
Good quality homemade desserts.
Courtesy and kindness, even if the last time we showed up by booking for 9.30pm and also arriving late, and it's not a given everywhere if you are the last table.
As far as I'm concerned, the price shouldn't even be commented on as it is honest.
Clone yourselves and multiply, you are good and good, but people are envious and don't want to tell you.
There is one thing that isn't so good and that I would honestly change: the poster of Inter as champions of Italy: it should be highlighted more, I didn't notice it immediately.
Let this demon cook.
