A Sicilian classic, founded in 1834, with an old-style interior, mostly frequented by Italians, taking up a whole Piazza, next to a church. The Food was tasty, reliable and hearty, portions large enough to share. You will not be disappointed if you want traditional Sicilian staples. Tourists could be found inside to enjoy the kid-friendly traditional Sicilian lung and kidney meat sandwich served street-food style.

Very good ! Very traditional! Hearty and CHEAP!! Between 4 and 4.5€ for a generous dish of dough. 5.5 the ravioli. A must-see address!

Fantastic arancina and panelle fried on the spot. The ça meusa bread is also delicious, the best I've tried so far in Palermo!

Amazing place! As others have written - there is chaos inside, but the waiting time is not too long. When it comes to pasta, the menu is variable, you need to choose the one you want from the board. The portions are huge, made of fresh products, and all this for about €5. Very highly recommended place!

The arancini are very good. But it's a very tavern-type place, so without a tray, you order and they give you everything by hand, cutlery, arancini and a plate of pasta.

We saw this place as we were having a walk and it caught our attention because it was so crowded with locals. So we decided to give it a try. But at around 15h when we were ready for lunch, there was nothing left anymore. So we came back the next day at 13h, and tried many different types of dishes. Everything was very good and it was worth the long wait in the line. It became our favourite place for a quick lunch while we were in Palermo. The prices are very reasonable too.

A very typical place, the cuisine is quality. On the other hand, you will have some difficulty understanding this service system. In fact, after going to the checkout you will have tickets which will be given in exchange for your food and drink. As is often the case in Sicily, you have to assert yourself in a queue or risk being defeated. You will therefore have to give your ticket and take a passage order ticket to the kitchen. A system that I didn't know and which can be a little confusing. Anyway: it's worth it considering the quality of the cuisine. Please note that you will take your seat once you have gone through the checkout and that the person in charge will give you two paper placemats. Your cesame to sit down at the table.

I had lunch twice in this restaurant, generous portions, a large dish with various side dishes and as a second course grilled swordfish €12, very good value for money, recommended.

27/03/2024: The Casale Drinzi, located in the middle of the beautiful Madonie, near the pretty mountain village of Collesano. A large, beautiful area with a vegetable garden, chickens and play areas for children. We became aware of Casale Drinzi through our slow food guide 'Osterie d'Italia', which has not disappointed us for 20 years and describes the wonderful, seasonal, regional organic cuisine of Italy everywhere in Italy. This is also the case at Casale Drinzi and we have eaten here several times and always had the degustazione menu and it was always different and always fantastic. Please do not eat anything for at least 12 hours beforehand. Eight wonderful antipasti - vegetables, cheese, mushrooms, sausage, sometimes snails - always different but always delicious. At least 2 wonderful primi, then 2 or 3 secondi, wonderful dolce, coffee and limoncello, amaro and chocolate liqueur. Afterwards you want to ask where the bed is. I don't want to talk about the price/performance ratio here, it's just incredibly good. The service and the people are incredibly friendly, generous and warm, even under stress. The guest room is very, very nice, open, large, and at the same time very comfortable. The tables are beautiful and even set with cloth napkins. A place to really feel good. Casale Drinzi describes its cuisine as simple. I would like to add delicious, with aromas, herbs and spices very finely balanced. The chefs can do it easily. It should also be mentioned that Casale Drinzi is often full on weekends and if you don't have a reservation, there is a small dependency 100 m away. You can also enjoy the kitchen on a beautiful terrace. We will use the small B&B at Casale Drinzi in spring or autumn. Then we can earn the great food by going on a hike and after the meal there will be a bed.
