Ditta Trinchetti In Roma

Group of 4, walking towards the river, we came across this place & something felt very inviting: We enjoyed everything about our vegetarian meal, including the pleasant and informal but attentive service. Strong recommendation. We have no connection with the place, but now good feelings. 27.05.24 🙂

Fabulous place in the heart of Trastevere!

I went to this place for dinner and I tasted: the chicory and bread meatballs with a bed of pecorino cheese which overall I found good, but the taste of chicory was not noticeable at all; grilled pecorino with honey and walnuts very good; Excellent cacio e pepe tonnarelli (the pasta has excellent thickness and consistency and is cooked to perfection, the cheese and pepper sauce is nice and creamy and just right in abundance). The place is very nice both inside and out and the staff are very kind during table service. The only flaw is that the outside tables are very close together and leave you free to smoke at the table, which means that if your neighbor smokes you eat pasta and smoke like what happened to us (our neighbors smoked excessively while they ate and ignored the our gestures to chase away the smoke). We tried to tell the staff that this is a great shame, thinking that it is right that those who manage the place pay attention to protecting everyone's well-being, both those who want to smoke and those who do not want passive smoking while eating, perhaps interceding with who smokes and asking not to do so or moving the tables away, and a bit slyly we were told "but if it bothered you you could ask your neighbors not to smoke". True, but we would have very much appreciated if the place first of all helped us not to create bad mood among customers since we were really elbow to elbow.

Restaurant in Trastevere from which I expected something more, the red wine served at room temperature, around 28 degrees, the dessert had been described to us as a Chantilly cream on a bed of strawberries and a basket of shortcrust pastry, a large portion of strawberries with cream arrived of the spray can and a cat's tongue placed on top.

The pasta was great! The service staff was generally ok, one guy who isn’t that helpful when I asked for no cheese and the other lady was helpful to recommend what I can have instead. The quaint alley and cobbled streets with the wobbly chairs was an experience although I’m personally not a big fan of it with tourists streaming beside me.

Quando cammini per le vie di Trastevere non mancano i posti per andare a mangiare. Poi però ti fermi davanti a Ditta Trinchetti e già da fuori capisci che è un posto diverso dagli altri. Qualità del cibo, cantina, gentilezza dello staff e atmosfera. Davvero unico. Lo chef riesce a proporre una sua versione della cucina romana con un tocco di eleganza e leggerezza ma che regala soddisfazione. Polpette di cicoria, pane e crema di pecorino super. Anche una “semplice” bufala con le puntarelle diventa una sorpresa. E non era facile. Carciofo al forno ci fonduta di formaggio e guancia di vitella, una carezza per il palato. Da tornarci ancora. Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo. Bravi bravi!

Ogni volta che vengo a Roma la tappa da Ditta Trinchetti è d’obbligo. Personale gentilissimo e preparato. C’è anche la possibilità di prenotare un tavolo online, super comodo. La qualità del cibo è senza ombra di dubbio ottima. Tutte le volte non riesco a rinunciare alla loro cacio e pepe, la migliore mangiata. Consiglio vivamente e ci tornerò sicuramente tutte le volte che avrò modo di essere a Roma.
