Cava Grande Restsurant In Siracusa

The Cavalgrande park (at least this entrance) has been officially closed for years, but you can still enter it by climbing over a fence and then walking the walking route. Follow the signs to the Trattoria / Laghetti Cavalgrande, you can park there for €4 (for the whole day). The route starts there. The path is rocky, carved steps and many loose stones. We took the walk with our children aged 6 and 8, and we all had sturdy walking shoes. It took us more than an hour to go down, and up too. The children found the climb especially difficult (we did too). Bring enough water and swimming gear so that you can swim in the pools below. Cold, but very refreshing! Afterwards we could get drinks, simple pizza and ice cream at the trattoria. In high season/weekend there is a more extensive menu to choose from.

Anonymous from all points of view. For Easter you can't just give the option of a super skimpy menu for €. 35 per person. Pasta with tomato sauce. The only dish that could be eaten was the schnitzel that the boys had. The rest no comment 🤬😡🤬

A magical evening. THANKS The two of us were there with 2 campers (January 2024). The trattoria is beautifully located on a canyon and we didn't have to pay anything for parking. (2 nights). The restaurant opened its doors at 8 p.m. on Saturdays, or you had to make your presence felt outside. We got a table without a reservation, although it gradually became full within a short period of time. The ambience is beautiful. The guest rooms are lovingly decorated with many exhibits and everything is absolutely clean. The ENTIRE staff was very attentive and extremely friendly. It only took a few minutes from ordering to ALL food and drinks being served. The taste of the open wine was excellent, the salad was crisp and fresh and the pizzas were probably the best in all of Sicily. The homemade tiramisu rounded everything off. The name is not misleading at all: it is a trattoria/pizzeria like those of the past, that is, characterized by generous portions and very low prices. And it must be said that it also defends itself well in terms of quality, which is no small detail. Reservations are necessary, especially in summer because it is always full. In good weather you eat outside, with charming tables arranged in a sort of large courtyard. Typical menu of the local tradition (ravioli, pizza muddiata, etc.), with the possibility of simply ordering a pizza. Local wine ok.

Tavolini esterni dove godere di questo angolo di natura ancora intatta. Ristorante con piatti tipici siciliani. Pasta fatta a mano, da segnalare i ravioli di ricotta.
