Charming and cozy restaurant with a very romantic vaulted basement room. The owners are very friendly and the man cooks delicious food. I recommend the quenelle, the duck with orange and the crème brûlée dessert, house specialties. Enjoy your meal 😊😁

Tasty Food in a Wonderful RestaurantWe read about Catina Barbagianni online and booked it. Even though I had high expectations the food and service far exceeded them. We arrived about 20 min before our reservations and were promptly greeted and seated. The waiter spoke splendid English and was very familiar with the dishes. We ordered some wine to pair with our food and it was also a delight. In terms of food we started with the octopus which came with a red wine sauce. The octopus was soft and tender and the sauce complimented it wonderfully. The flavors blended beautifully, and were subtle. A wonderful find and now a favorite. Food so thoughtfully prepared. Each course so flavorful. Roasted octopus starter was amazingly tender. Spinach and ricotta gnudi with truffle bechamel the best I’ve tasted. Pici senesi with meatballs so rich and hearty…perfect bite to the pasta. Homemade bread was the best we’ve tasted in our 7 years visiting Florence. The “soft-hearted” chocolate cake with caramel sauce and fresh raspberries was a melt in your mouth, chocolate decadence experience. This husband and wife team are amazing hosts!

One of the best culinary experiences I have had in years. The restaurant develops an original menu revisiting traditional Tuscan recipes, moving away from clichés. I can assure you that the chef makes the best ragout I have eaten in years.

We went to this restaurant last night thanks to a Smart box. Very nice, relaxing place with high quality cuisine. The staff were very kind and even helped us with the little one. An excellent discovery in Florence! We will be back!!!

We really enjoyed eating at Cantina Barbagiani, the food was amazing, the waiter was really nice, it’s a small family business and not a touristy restaurant. The homemade fresh pasta were unbelievable, will definitely come back.
