28/05/2024: Fantastic location of this hotel...a marvel for the eyes...it's a shame that there are some slightly negative notes...deckchairs and sun loungers by the pool (even if they didn't work but we customers were there sunbathing) thrown there without no care and without any cleaning...the buffet was good but when it ran out of fruit or anything else it wasn't refreshed...various sweets and croissants without a written description of what it was (just to know what you're eating)....some little problem in the bathroom in the room... in short it's a real shame because the place is truly fantastic!!! This is not a criticism because I will return if I can... but it is important for you to pay more attention to certain things...
P.s. I took the most beautiful walk among the hay bales of my life
27/05/2024: This complex could easily be the most beautiful hotel in all of Tuscany. Unfortunately, the operator is ignoring this potential, although only a few changes that would be neither costly nor complex would raise “Il Palagetto” to a significantly higher level. The fantastic, secluded location on a hill with a 360° dream view of a landscape that fulfills every cliché about Tuscany, coupled with the typical architectural style, makes your heart beat faster when you arrive. But soon the first visual downsides appear: All that's left of our canopy is the iron frame; in some other apartments, glass was still used there. The interior curtains were torn and dirty, there was only a single toothbrush cup in the bathroom and the furniture was pretty shabby and worn out. The complex is run as a 3-star hotel, for me it wasn't even two. We can live with the fact that the extremely weak WiFi is practically non-existent, or that we have to run away with 20 liters of water before we can finally take a warm shower, but the fact that the bath towels are stained and full of holes is unacceptable. The same goes for the felted wool blankets that no hygiene-conscious person would voluntarily cover themselves with. A pity. Unfortunately, this impression continues in the hotel's own restaurant: the chair covers are so dirty that you are reluctant to sit on them, and the tablecloths don't make a better impression. We were also dissatisfied with the breakfast: only dry white bread from a can, hard-boiled ice-cold eggs that probably only came from the fridge and overall a pitifully meager offering. You literally had to beg for every coffee and then wait forever for it, the staff seemed overwhelmed and sometimes listless and almost an hour before the end of breakfast most of the plates and platters were empty and were only refilled when asked.
Overall, you're left with a bad aftertaste. We don't need luxury and the simplicity also supports the style of the hotel in a friendly way, but certain basic standards and, above all, unconditional cleanliness are clearly missing here and so the conclusion is: We wouldn't want to stay here again and could also stay at "Il Palagetto". do not recommend.
