During our trip to Sicily, we happened to be in Piana degli Albanesi, as we were impressed by the name "Albanesi" because we are Albanians. We stopped at the Markata bus station and accidentally entered the Antica Trattoria San Giovani restaurant. If you are in Palermo, it is worth coming here just to try the dishes of this restaurant, ravioli, pork with potatoes, cannoli, wine and the smile and hospitality of the lady of the house. Everything 5 stars!

Today 1st May 2024 we went for lunch. Cozy location. Landlady Adriana makes you feel like family. His smile is very welcoming. Always thoughtful. Both Adriana and the staff pampered us with their free time always at the top. Fresh and first choice food. And lastly, the classic sheep's ricotta cannoli could not be missing. I invite everyone who passes through Piana degli Albanesi to go there, you won't regret it, in fact we will return like I did. If I had to give stars for the review I would give 5.

We went to Antica Trattoria San Giovanni for Easter Monday lunch and returned again during our stay in Piana; the quality and freshness of the products, combined with Carlo's mastery in the kitchen and Adriana's kindness and preparation, won us over! The tagliatelle with pistachio pesto are exceptional! We had a great time and can't wait to return 😊

On Easter Sunday the manager of the restaurant did not want to leave anyone with an empty stomach, bending over backwards to accommodate everyone. We found ourselves in front of a sumptuous lunch with every type of local delicacy, from the caponata to the pistachio pesto that seasoned the tagliolini to the inevitable cannoli. All washed down with an excellent bottle of Syrah. Highly recommended!!

Very good food, cooked well and of good quality although I found the bruschetta with lard a little salty (but these are personal tastes).
The place is very nice and has been renovated. Clean bathrooms.
Unfortunately the service is not particularly attentive to customers... furthermore the first courses arrived while we were still finishing eating the starter. A feat to be able to call a waiter.

A friend recommended it to us and although we had to deviate from our route a little, it was worth it. Very good pasta with anchovies (we repeat) and also the Stinco de Maiale (pork knuckle), as an appetizer for the caponata. We will be back

Proprietari gentili, ristorante pulito e ottima cucina, merita una fermata se andate a Piana degli Albanesi. Consiglio la bistecca alla palermitana e le patate al forno.
