Nothing exceptional.
The food is decent, the environment is clean, the girls are kind and friendly.
An appetizer, a first course, a second course, a dessert, a coffee, half a liter of wine €82 (definitely too much for the bigoli with sardines and three grilled ribs).
In the Gardesano hinterland you can find much better; but even worse.
It should be underlined that for those who know a little about the 8 DOC Veronese wines.... yours at 15 euros for HALF a liter is a little exaggerated.

Osteria Busocaldo is that tavern where you feel at home, with friendly staff ready to respond to every need.

Very friendly and helpful. clean environment. Prices appropriate to the quality. No "trugli", just genuine food. In good weather it must be very nice to have lunch or dinner on the veranda.

Mixed grill with polenta 22 euros.
5 pieces (including HALF sausage and a slice of lard) and a small square of polenta. The taste is good but in other taverns for the same price you can satiate yourself with a more generous grill, not here. Acidulous house wine.

A piece of heaven on earth!
After about 30 years, I wanted to visit Osteria Busocaldo again.
With the best memories of spagetti fegato (chicken liver) and an open grill fireplace - I have never forgotten that - I raved all these years about a married couple who pampered their guests with a lot of love.
In May 2023 I set out with my wife on a day trip. When we arrived there, to our disappointment, we caught a rest day. We were able to speak with the son and learned that his parents had handed the restaurant over to him and his wife. But he emphasized that he had inherited the recipe for the spagetti fegato from his father and continued it...
Since we were vacationing in the north of Lake Garda, we didn't go there again. After a nice meal with wine, we didn't want to drive back that far. But the best memories there stayed with me.
When we left, we decided to spend an extra day looking for accommodation near Busocaldo and reliving the beautiful memories.
I ordered a nice table over the phone from his very friendly wife.
On June 3, 2023, we finally went to Osteria Busocaldo with great expectations. Our great expectations were far exceeded. His wife had really reserved the most beautiful table for us on the terrace. Then I showed my wife the open fireplace grill area with all the delicious fish, meat, vegetables, polenta in front of it and what a surprise the grill master from back then was standing there - I couldn't believe it...very warm welcome after many years.
Christa greeted us at the table - she was responsible for our well-being. Very kind and attentive, she accompanied and served us extremely professionally, courteously and warmly throughout the evening.
We started our dinner with delicious Prosecco. Then came our Pasta Fegato - to revive the taste memory after 30 years, in memory of the father and mother! Wow, it tasted like I remembered it - just top class. Afterwards we had the mixed grilled meat specialties with grilled vegetables and polenta. What a poem – the grill master had outdone himself for us. Plus an excellent Lugana from Ca dei Frati – one of the best local wines.
We were surrounded by vineyards, experienced the sunset, the outdoor lighting was warm and cozy... everything was right - a very special atmosphere!
We were able to watch the son and his wife as they lovingly looked after the well-being of each guest. It is rare today to find such a legacy of parents being carried on with respect and respect.
We concluded dinner with espresso, cappuccino and limoncello...unfortunately with the sad realization that the best times are about to end.
It was very, very difficult for us to say goodbye - sentimental moments combined with the past and the present. Grateful memory of the parents and, on the other hand, the son and his wife, who do the parents all credit. You deserve our special thanks from our hearts this evening.
On the way home we both agreed – it was by far the best day of our vacation! Our conclusion: A piece of heaven on earth!
Now we are dreaming about it and can hardly wait to go on holiday on Lake Garda again as soon as possible. Then definitely be close to the Osteria Busocaldo. There were also so many other delicious dishes on the menu just waiting to be discovered.
Many thanks to everyone at Osteria Busocaldo who gave us extraordinary and unforgettable moments in our lives. It is not possible to describe this with words...
