Beautiful fortress with a very interesting history, it's just a shame that it is a little neglected

Visited on the first Sunday of the month, during the 5pm shift; these two details are important, because it is possible to request a visit with the addition of the prisons (check the visit days and times, with prices, on the roccacesena.it website). They require booking on the site or even by messaging. Finally I move on to review, being able only to compliment: first of all for the skill of the guide, both prepared and capable of arousing the curiosity of visitors; secondly for the enormous work that the archaeologists, supported by the students, carried out in cleaning the tunnels that run throughout the city walls of debris. The visit to the keep or keep and the adjacent building which they call female is very beautiful, as well as for the intricate network of walkways within the walls of the defensive curtain. Since concerts are held in the fortress, you can also stay for the evening. I conclude with the comfortable place, still inside the courtyard, for an aperitif or a bottled craft beer.

A wonder discovered by chance. Enrico, our guide, was very good. He managed to convey a lot of mixed emotions to us throughout the visit, explaining (in great detail) the whole history up to the present day. Access can only be made by booking the visit by telephone in advance.

The Fortress is truly beautiful. It is worth the guided tour and especially the walk on the terraces. From which you can see a splendid panorama. Highly recommended
